Roger Davis, his brother, Brent, and Jo Swerling, producer of "Alias Smith and Jones," almost got into serious trouble clowning around in a fast-flowing river in Utah, where Roger's TV series was on location.

The fellows shot the rapids without a canoe, riding old inner tubes. Even though they held onto each other, forming a bobbing, human daisy chain, Swerling was caught in the rapids for several frightening seconds before he broke free.

Brent, after nibbling at the notion of an acting career, decided in favor of a less glamorous job in Kentucky.
