ALTHOUGH
there are six doctors in PETER DUEL's family tree, he
ignored tradition and decided to become an actor. Born in Rochester,
New York on Feb. 24, he grew up in Penfield with his younger
brother Geoffrey and his younger sister Pamela. While attending
St. Lawrence University, he became interested in theatrical productions...
and this led to his enrollment at the American Theater Wing in
New York City. He gained experience by working as an assistant
stage manager and actor in the Shakespeare Wrights Repertory
Company. His lucky break in show business came when he signed
for the film "Wounded in Action." Upon moving to Hollywood,
he appeared in guest shots on many TV series and now stars as
Joshua Smith in "Alias Smith and Jones." Ignoring the
night club and party scene, he lives very simply in an apartment
over a garage in West Hollywood. Pete, a 6' bachelor, has brown
hair, brown eyes and weighs 160 pounds.
BEN
MURPHY, who stars as Kid Curry on "Alias Smith and Jones,"
did a lot of academic galloping around before appearing in a
western. Born on March 6 in Jonesboro, Arkansas. Ben grew up
in the Chicago suburb of Hinsdale. Being unsure of what he wanted
to do, he enrolled at Loras Collage in Iowa, the first of eight
collages he attended. Through determination and hard work, he
eventually received two Bachelor of Arts degrees--one in international
relations and the other in theater arts. Recently he did graduate
work in physical education--and still managed to pursue his acting
career. On TV, he co-starred in "The Name of the Game"
series and has appeared on many other shows. He has had a role
in the film "The Graduate" and in the comedy "Yours,
Mine and Ours." Besides studying and acting, another one
of his interests is traveling across the U.S. and doing some
skiing or swimming. A bachelor, he lives in an apartment in the
San Fernando Valley.
