public, it seemed that Peter Duel was at the height of his success.
But personally, he was a very unhappy man. Diane Ray, his girlfriend
and also the woman who found his body, said he'd been drinking
heavily while watching a basketball game on TV. Just minutes
before he shot himself, he'd walked out of the room with a revolver,
saying "I'll see you later!"
